Making Memories

Well, I have not been very good at this whole blog thing so far...hopefully that will change. We get Ross every Wednesday morning and take him to school and pick him up. Usually it is me who picks him up in the mornings because I have a more flexible work schedule. For a while now, I have wanted to eat lunch with Ross at his school and I finally did last Wednesday...I went to his school and brought Chick-Fil-A. One of my favorite memories of my childhood was when my dad would bring me lunch to school and eat with me...I felt so special. I was hoping it was special to Ross like it was to me when I was a kid. When I picked him up yesterday morning I asked him what he wanted for lunch and I told him I was going to drop something off for him at lunch time. He said he wanted Chick-Fil-A again and then he asked me if I was going to stay and eat with him again. I said that I could do that or I could just drop it off...he told me that he wanted me to stay and eat with him like last time. That made me so happy because I know that it was special to him too! Hopefully one day Derek will be able to eat with us. On Wednesday's he has a meeting that usually lasts most of the day but occassionally they will cancel it so next time that happens, we will all have a lunch date! While I was waiting on Ross to get to the cafeteria I got to listen to some of the kids talking and let me tell you...if you don't already know this...your kids are like little walking, talking diaries of your lives! I heard so many stories, "My dad does this..." or "My mom says this..." it was very amusing! Then I got a little paranoid, wondering what Ross might have said about us! :) It is not like there is something bad but just thinking about him telling our lives to other people is a little scary! I can't even imagine all the stories that teachers hear! Anyway, I am hoping to make this something that we do more often.
